Astra keeps e-bikes protected for up to a year in storage
Every winter, many e-bikes get moved into basements, garages, and storage units. Others wait months in a dealer's back room for the right buyer. Until now, most trackers went dark long before those bikes came back out.
We built Astra, our new connectivity solution, so that doesn't happen. When a bike is stored, Astra can stay idle up to 12 months and wakes up the moment the bike moves.
Built for extra peace of mind
For riders, Astra means parking the bike for the winter and knowing it's still protected in March. For dealers, stock waiting for a buyer stays protected without anyone charging trackers. Fleet operators can move vehicles in and out of storage without losing any along the way.

A bike that can always be found is harder to steal and easier to retrieve. Pair that with sound alarms, app alerts, and an immobilizer, and a rider can trust their bike is kept safe.
How Astra lasts a year
While the bike is on the move or connected to its main battery, Astra runs on the e-bike's power. When the main battery is taken out for storage, Astra switches to its own built-in backup battery. When the owner puts the bike into storage mode, Astra powers itself down almost completely, so the backup battery barely drains. That makes Astra's idle time 6 times longer than our previous IoT modules.
When the bike moves, you know about it
A motion sensor stays on guard at all times. If someone moves a digitally locked bike while it's in storage, Astra comes back online, and the owner gets a movement alert on their phone. Astra then locates the bike using Wi-Fi-Locate alongside GPS, with accuracy of up to 2.5 meters. That works even indoors, which is usually where stored bikes end up.
Demos available for manufacturers and fleets
Pre-orders for Astra are open, with deliveries planned in 2027. Astra works with most e-bike drive units and connects to the e-system over CAN. You can run it with Comodule's app or connect its data and controls to your own app through our API.
