Urban Arrow cargo bikes are made theft-proof with connectivity

Urban Arrow is the first cargo bike brand that went electric. Founded in the Netherlands more than a decade ago, the striking design quickly captured many hearts all around the world. Voted e-cargo bike of the year in 2023, the wide range of e-cargo bikes serves both families and businesses with models for different purposes.

A smart security system to prevent theft

To improve the user experience and prevent bike theft, Urban Arrow bikes are equipped with Comodule’s cellular connectivity solution, enabling smart security features such as location tracking, and movement alerts activated by a digital lock. Riders can access the features from the Urban Arrow app, staying connected to their bike at all times. In addition to the security features, the Urban Arrow app displays the bike’s battery status, range, and ride data.

The digital lock activates a motion sensor, so whenever someone moves your Urban Arrow bike without permission, you will immediately receive a push notification on your phone. If the bike is stolen, you can position it in real time via accurate GPS positioning.

Riders can choose to buy an already connected Urban Arrow cargo bike or they can have their existing cargo bike retrofitted with the smart solution. The GPS solution is fully hidden and it’s not visible to thieves.

Comodule’s connectivity solution has been fundamental in solving some of our toughest business challenges. It has been a pleasure working with them and we are looking forward to expanding our cooperation in the future.

Connected bikes get better insurance conditions

Insurance providers see the benefits of equipping e-bikes with GPS solutions, as it decreases the risk of vehicle theft and the recovery rates of stolen connected bikes are very high. This means better insurance rates and conditions for connected e-bikes. As part of their Connected solution, Urban Arrow offers additional theft insurance, recovery service, and roadside assistance, all accessible from the Urban Arrow app.
