Bikes that continuously evolve & inspire: SUPER73 introduces GPS tracking and bike immobilizer upgrade

SUPER73 is expanding its collaboration with Comodule with a new connectivity upgrade for European riders. The upgrade adds cellular IoT connectivity to compatible SUPER73 bikes, bringing advanced digital security and ownership features directly into the SUPER73 app.

The solution builds on the existing digital ecosystem developed with Comodule, including the Diamond display, Bluetooth connectivity and the SUPER73 app. With the new IoT module installed, riders can connect to their bike remotely and access features such as GPS tracking, movement alerts, live location sharing, digital bike sharing, a digital bike passport and remote bike immobilizer.

For riders, the upgrade adds practical security and convenience. For the wider bicycle industry, it shows how embedded connectivity can extend the value of an e-bike after purchase and turn the bike into an upgradeable digital platform.

From connected interface to connected ownership

The SUPER73 app already gives riders a branded digital interface for bike controls, ride settings and everyday interaction with the vehicle. Cellular connectivity expands this experience beyond short-range Bluetooth and enables remote communication between the bike and the app.

This means riders can manage important ownership and security features even when they are away from the bike. Instead of relying on separate devices, third-party apps or aftermarket trackers, the connected experience becomes part of the bike itself.

For manufacturers, this is an important shift. Connectivity is no longer only about showing ride data or controlling settings. It becomes the foundation for lifecycle services, security features, rider engagement and future digital upgrades.

Built-in security at vehicle level

At the center of the upgrade is the remote bike immobilizer. Unlike basic trackers that mainly help locate a bike after theft, the immobilizer is designed to help prevent theft by disabling the bike from being turned on when digitally locked.

Because the feature is integrated at vehicle level, it remains effective even if the IoT module is removed from the bike. This makes the stolen bike harder to use and less attractive to thieves.

Combined with GPS tracking, movement alerts and live location sharing, the upgrade gives riders a stronger security setup through one branded app experience.

Together with SUPER73, we are demonstrating how embedded connectivity transforms e-bikes into upgradeable digital platforms that continue delivering value long after purchase. The IoT upgrade strengthens rider confidence and expands what manufacturers can offer throughout the lifecycle of an e-bike.

For e-bike brands, this is where embedded connectivity creates clear value. Security becomes part of the vehicle architecture, not an add-on. The result is a more robust rider experience and a stronger foundation for future insurance, recovery and digital ownership services.

A digital platform that can evolve after purchase

The rollout also demonstrates how connected bikes can evolve after they leave the factory. With an IoT layer in place, brands can introduce new digital capabilities, improve ownership services and respond to market needs over time.

This is especially relevant as riders increasingly expect the same level of digital convenience from their bikes that they already receive from cars, phones and other connected products.

For manufacturers, connected services can support stronger rider relationships, better post-purchase engagement and new opportunities beyond the initial sale. Instead of treating the bike as a fixed hardware product, connectivity turns it into a platform that can keep delivering value throughout its lifecycle.

Available across Europe

The connectivity upgrade is now available across Europe through SUPER73 dealers. Riders interested in activating the upgrade can contact their local SUPER73 dealer for compatibility and installation details.

Working with Comodule allows us to take a meaningful step forward in how riders experience ownership and security. By integrating connectivity directly into the bike, we’re not just adding features, we’re building a foundation for a smarter, more secure riding experience that continues to evolve over time. This is about giving riders more confidence in their bike and expanding what a SUPER73 can offer well beyond the moment of purchase.
